This curtain rod was made out of copper pipe, elbows and caps. The caps were screwed into the wall and the rod and elbows fit into the caps, which made for a curtain rod free of the unsightly brackets you find on most curtain rods. I then used the same concept to make the pot rack below. I also made the paper star hanging in the corner and I sewed the curtains and the square bean bags. I made removable covers for the bean bags, seen here. The refinished version of the desk can be seen here. My Mom made the knit afghan that's on the beanbag. :)

Besides looking great, this pot rack was useful because I didn't have a lot of storage space in the kitchen cabinets and because there wasn't much that could be done with this space without crowding the walkway. Scroll down to see the curtain rod I made using the same method.
