A side note, this dress form was a thrift store find - it's foam with a knit cover. I carved it with a bread knife until it was my shape and size so I could use it!

The first two dresses I made patterns for based on the magazine pictures below. For the dress on the end, I started with a McCalls pattern. It originally had a zipper in the back that I moved to the side and the front buttons were just decorative and mine are functional. Most of the work is in making it fit just right.
